Christmas is finally upon us and we’re excited to share with you our festive menu for the perfect 2018 Peak District Christmas meal. Enjoy a beautiful, freshly prepared two or three course menu in the warm cosy surroundings of our traditional Castleton country Inn.

Starters

Curried parsnip soup with onion bhajis

Gin and tonic cured salmon with ruby red grapefruit, dill and potato  pancake and creme fraise

Hartington stilton button mushrooms with artisan bread

Smoked haddock, bacon and sweetcorn chowder with toasted farm house bread

 

Mains

Mixed game suet pudding  in red wine and herb gravy served with braised red cabbage, green beans and confit baby onions

Pan fried hake on crushed herb and garlic potatoes, stem broccoli and bacon with a seafood sauce

Traditional roast turkey with rosemary and chestnut stuffing all the trimmings

Filo pastry stuffed with wild mushrooms, spinach and feta, with sweet potato mash, roast vegetables in a tomato sauce

 

Desserts

Christmas pudding and brandy custard

Mint chocolate and orange cheesecake  and vanilla pod ice cream

Toffee panacotta with salted caramel popcorn and chocolate ganache

 

Menu not available on weekends only Monday to Friday
