Christmas is finally upon us and we’re excited to share with you our festive menu for the perfect 2019 Peak District Christmas meal. Enjoy a beautiful, freshly prepared two or three course menu in the warm cosy surroundings of our traditional Castleton country Inn.

Curried parsnip soup with onion bhajis

Smoked salmon, cream cheese and chive roll with dressed watercress and toasted bread

Oven baked figs wrapped in parma ham and goats cheese on salad

Sesame halloumi bites with a cranberry compote

Ham hock, asparagus and mustard terrine with homemade pickle



Roast turkey breast with pigs in blankets, homemade dripping stuffing with fresh market vegetables with all the christmas trimmings

Fillet of beef wellington served with dauphinoise potatoes, roast root vegetables and red wine sauce   £2.50 supplement

Chicken breast filled with stilton mousse wrapped in parma ham on creamed potato & spinach with a chive and cream sauce

Panfried Gressingham duck breast with sweet potato croquettes, tender stem broccoli and our chefs mulled wine jus

Cajun spiced salmon fillet on a bed of roast root vegetable risotto with a salad

Beetroot, wild mushroom, chestnut and cranberry wellington served with roast new potatoes and salad



Christmas pudding and brandy custard

Dark chocolate tart with mint choc ice cream

Festive bread and butter pudding with custard or cream

Cheese and biscuits
